Award-winning watercolorist Lana Privitera, is known for her realistic renditions of buildings, people, animals and Still Lifes.
Originally from Spain, Mrs. Privitera graduated from the Fine Arts School of Zaragoza, where she majored in Fashion Design and Art History.
After several visits to the U.S., she settled in New Jersey in 1995, starting then a very active career in its artistic community. During those years, she was called many times to perform as an Art Judge and Critiquer, and was in high demand as a workshop teacher and watercolor demonstrator for some local Art Groups.
In the early 2000s, she became an Elected Member of the New Jersey Watercolor Society and was also accepted in numerous Juried Art Shows at State, National and International level. She also won Awards and Honorable mentions in shows run by such prestigious associations as the “Allied Artists of America”, “American Artist Professional League” and “Northeast Watercolor Society”.
In 2004 Mrs. Privitera married again and became a resident of Orange County, NY, halting her Art career for a few years to devote more time to her family.
After a decade-long hiatus, Mrs Privitera is back again in the Art scene and has joined several Art Associations in the NY Metro area.
She is a Founding Member of the Crawford Art Association and the current Art Curator for the Pine Bush Public Library, both located in Pine Bush, NY.
Besides her main line of work in Watercolors, -mostly architectural landscapes from Spain and the Tri-State area- her art portfolio includes more than a hundred Charcoal and Pastel People’s Portraits, some Inks, Acrylics, Woodcarvings, Clay sculptures, Murals, and commissioned Portraits of Houses and Pets in Watercolors.
More than 300 of her Watercolors can be found in private and corporate collections throughout the U.S, France, Mexico and Spain.
