Originally from Spain, Lana Privitera graduated in 1983 from the Fine Arts School of Zaragoza, where she majored in Fashion Design and Art History. After working in Advertising for a few years, she moved to the USA in the early 1990s.
In the late 1990s, her detailed and colorful watercolors of NJ farms and towns won her a following and some recognition locally. She became an Elected Member of the New Jersey Watercolor Society in 2002 and, in the following two years, before she became a mother in 2004, her paintings got accepted in Juried Art Shows at State, National and International level, winning Awards in several of them.
Mrs. Privitera has just returned to the Art World and has joined several of the Art Associations in the Hudson Valley Area. She’s a Founding Member of the new Crawford Art Association, the current Art Curator for the Pine Bush Public Library and is a Signature Member of both the New Jersey Watercolor Society and the North East Watercolor Society.
Mrs. Privitera is truly enjoying painting and teaching again from her new studio near Pine Bush (NY), where she now resides.
