“The Big Easy” – Beginner – Fun Basics
Learn the basics of watercolor painting with Lana. Discover how to paint both a Flat Wash and a Graded Wash as well as other useful techniques. Then, enjoy yourself with some magical Wet-on-Wet watercolor blasts!
Learn all about the Materials you’ll need to become a proficient watercolorist and hear useful Tips on Drawing and Composition while working on your painting.
Lana will guide you along in short, easy steps, demonstrating each particular technique before you take your turn. You’ll be allowed to work at your own pace and will be able to practice as much as you want on a separate piece of paper before you start your masterpiece.
No Drawing skills necessary for this Level!

“The Tough Cookie” – Intermediate – Shape and contrast
Refresh your basic knowledge of watercolor painting with Lana. Re-discover how to paint a clean Flat Wash and a perfect Graded Wash. Allow yourself to get wild with your Wet-on-Wet brushwork! Let’s improve your Dry Brush technique and show off those great textural effects!
Then let’s work on your GLAZING technique. Lana will demonstrate how to glaze with transparent watercolors to achieve luminous darks. You’ll never paint MUD again!
Learn also useful Tips on Drawing, Perspective and Composition while working on your painting.

- All work will be “In-Studio”, copying from your photos or Lana’s own Reference photos or Watercolors.
- Each workshop is tailored to suit your needs, taste and ability.
- You set your own pace.
- All supplies included -if needed.
- At the conclusion of the workshop, you’ll receive one FREE White Mat & Backing piece, plus an
acetate sleeve to protect your Masterpiece. You’ll be all set to pop your painting into a frame when you get
home!
- If you need them, and for a fair price, you may purchase some of the art materials you used during the
workshop.
- You’ll also get a FREE list of the best watercolor supplies -and Art Material suppliers- and a list of
recommended Art books.

MATERIALS RECOMMENDED to bring along.
- ARCHES, 140 LBS, COLD Press (Fine Grain) (not ROUGH!) – Several (2) 10” x 14” pieces and some scraps of the same paper for testing the colors before applying to the painting.
- Synthetic Blend or good Sable ROUND Watercolor brushes, #2, #6, #12, and any other good quality WC
brushes you might like working with.
- One (1) HARD board, such as a Canvas Panel 12” x 16” or 18” x 24”
- Professional Watercolor Paints. (e-mail Lana for a list of best quality/price ratio)
- All other miscellaneous materials needed will be provided by Lana.
